I've had this plate block since I was a kid and always liked it. Its a commemorative from 1929 (Scott 651), commemorating the battle of Vincennes. Apparently when issued it was the largest commemorative stamp ever issued by the U.S., and the plate blocks were saved in such quantities by collectors that they're one of the most common from that era. Oh well! I still like it....
