Rare Graf Zeppelin item from 1929. Commemorates the Graf Zeppelin's historic first Round-the-World Flight (the first by any airship) in August 1929, financed by William Randolph Hearst. Captained by Dr. Hugo Echener (shown on the game cover), the LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin flew over parts of Siberia that had never before been seen by modern explorers, and the trip included the first ever non-stop flight over the Pacific. The game, titled 'With Graf Zeppelin Around the World', contains oversized (2¾"x4¼") cards, each with actual photographs from the world trip, taken throughout the route from Lakehurst, New Jersey to Friedrichshafen to Tokyo to Los Angeles to Lakehurst. Each card shows a photograph and has commentary. Game is a standard German 'quartet card game'. It contains 48 cards in sets of 4, and is complete.
