I purchased this sofa and have been told by a furniture dealer that it is carved from Mohagany, I have been trying to figure out possibly an age or "style" but I have not been able to find anything that looks even similar. I know that it was purchased at an estate auction 25 years ago and was recovered but other than that I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated... I tried to take the best pictures but this sofa is REALLY long...lol...It has carvings all over it...I thought the corners on the back were interesting not upholstered (sort of empire but not bulky like empire era)...

Have you read a book by Judith Miller - I forget the title lol (it has a vase on the cover with a looking glass) and it has at the back all the different shapes of furniture - and the carvings so you can get an idea of period. I matched up a mahogany chair I found with the pictures from the book to get a rough idea.
p.s I like the pink!
