i have exterior ornamental iron headers from above the doors off of a 1800's school building.12 single doors that measure 60" at the top and 55"at the bottom and 17" tall each weight 150# each
2 large double doors are 110"at the top and 102" at the bottom and 27 " tall each weigh 245# each
as far as the condition 2 of the small one are in good condition and the other 10 are in fair condition with broken edges from removal from the building or with the decorative scroll broken. one of the large one is in good condition and the other one has the decorative scroll broken but i did find all of the pieces for it . i am located in the saint louis mo area and would like to know if there was any kind of market for these and what the resale value would be.

It's always a shame to see old buildings demolished but it's great to see pieces like these salvaged and repurposed. Check to see if there is an urban or county preservation society nearby that you can contact. Often they run stores or mailing lists just for these types of items. If there is nothing like that around try contacting your state historic preservation office http://www.dnr.mo.gov/shpo/index.html they may have some suggestions. There is definitely money in architectural salvage, sometimes though it's tough getting the right piece to the right buyer.
