Japan's foremost etcher, Ryohei Tanaka was born in Osaka Prefecture in 1933. First commissioned in 1965, Tanaka has won a number of awards in Japan, Yugoslavia and America and is widely shown and collected worldwide. His etching are greatly admired for their fine detail and subtle aquatinting.
