A rarely encountered Japanese limited edition copperplate etching titled “Washi in May” by Tanaka Ryohei (b. 1933). Pencil-signed, dated '77, and numbered 12/100 in the lower margin.

Frame Size: 17" x 21"

Japan's foremost etcher, Ryohei Tanaka was born in Osaka Prefecture in 1933. First commissioned in 1965, Tanaka has won a number of awards in Japan, Yugoslavia and America and is widely shown and collected worldwide. His etching are greatly admired for their fine detail and subtle aquatinting.
