    (106 items)

These 2 dolls seem to be Mexican Character dolls. A small label on the foot of larger doll had JAPAN . It has fallen off and lost. The bodys appear to be made of some type of woven material that has been hardened with some type of hard coating. black one is velvet like with gold trim. The smaller one appears to be silk .faded?

Hi you have novelty or tourist dolls . Sold to tourists . The collecting of these types of dolls is limited as they were not meant to be dolls to be played with just novelty decor pieces :-)

Thanks for the information. They are from the 30's according to my mother in law. I have not been able to see any similiar ones.

The second one looks a lot like a Klumpe or Roldan Doll by high arched eyebrows . The first one you said is marked made in Japan . These dolls were mass produced and often were made in different international dress in Japan, Germany,USA . I am sure we could find one exact if searched ebay everyday . If a Klumpe or Roland the earliest they were made was late 1950's through about the 70's .

      Hi Manikin
Very good answer and info. It looks like that is what they are. The sticker was marked JAPAN.My information may be incorrect as to age. Many thanks for a good answer.
