I was given this pair of scissors which seem to be unused (still in its original box). It is about 16 cm (6 and 1/2 inches) long. My partner says the maker J A Henckels of Solinger in Germany is renowned for good quality and that its products are highly collectible.
I have since done some research on the internet. According to a site for antiques and collectibles the manufacture date is circa mid 1900s, possibly earlier and that they are no longer manufactured. Yet I saw a "new" pair for sale on eBay (US site). Does anyone know anything more about this particular brand of stork scissors, please?

Very nice ! They do appear to me newer and even lining of box is synthetic material not used till later . They are beautiful . Do you know the history of stork scissors ? They started out used by mid wives to cut umbilical cord . This would be a wealthy family that could buy them . they evolved over time as mid wives also used them to sew or embroidery while waiting for Mom to deliver and started using these and soon they became scissors for sewing . The very old ones are very sought after . The nose had more of a forceps nose to clamp down on cord .
beautiful and love yours . !

Thanks for comments and interesting information about stork scissors. It's a very good point about the box lining being that of a later period than mid 1900's!
