I wondered if anyone had more information about these baskets. These three baskets are really well made and measure appx. 8 1/2 inches. round. I would love to know if they are genuine from the American SW or if reproductions/not from the SW. Bought in thrift store in Denver CO. Thanks for any information.

I have had these baskets for a number of years and have wondered if they are from the southwest or some sort of reproduction. The construction is nice however the bottoms have more "fray" than the interior of the baskets. If anyone has some input on area of construction I would be most appreciative.

In my best guess, the one with the star pattern in the center with the orange circle opened at one end looks Navajo. The opening would face east, the direction of the morning sun. It's referred to as a wedding basket.

The one with the imperfect four pointed star or shape would generally reflect the four directions or Venus, the morning star, tho the image is rather imperfect in design so it raises a red flag. On the other hand, I do have a similar small African basket.

Lastly, the basket with the blue outline is the one I question the most as it was such a rare color that it wasn't really used on baskets. Clothing, at best.

No matter what, they are attractive and would look great on a wall!
