Still going through moms estate and finding treasures, some I remember and the stories that go with them-& some I don't . Anybody know anything about the artist SSKK? This vase, which I believe is pewter has a pristine stick man on bottom and the initials SSKK. I think it is Japanese - but can't find the year Or maker Just curious.

I have this same bud vase, there is one currently on ebay. I believe its brass and bronze from findland and is selling for around $22.50. One sold in 2010 on eBay for $9.99. I bought mine at a yard sell in the Castro district in San Francisco in 1987. I'm still doing research but it looks identical and has the sskk with the figure holding arms out on bottom almost looks like skull and crossbones.

My vase is similar, slightly smaller with a fantastic patina. It also came from a garage sale. In April 2014, someone in Sheffield England posted a set of silver knives with the same SSKK hallmark and stick figure. My inclination is to chalk it up to the lovely but not worth much category. Good luck!
