Mercury II Model CX, production started in 1945 by Universal Camera Corp. These half frame 35mm cameras were made out of aluminum/magnesium alloy which was a contributing factor for there highly tarnishing state. It came with a Tricor f/2.7 35mm lens (One of 3 common lenses offered for this model). The metal rotary focal plane shutter design(which contributed to its distinctive arch shape design on top)with speeds T, B, 1/20 - 1/1000 sec.

this one is another of the faves of my collection .. My mother had this old leather deteriorating box up in her closet for the longest time, and one day I plucked it out because I couldn't stand the suspense anymore and it was this cool looking camera with all these dials and numbers and it had a cool sounding click!My mom said I could have it if I took care of it since it was my grandfathers and ive been collecting odd cameras ever since, thanks to this one.. :)
how much did you pay for the Mercury II model CX, my friend has one and wants to sell his with the brown camera case.
