Identification Help Needed

This framed print is done in the same format as my other request.
The image has been mounted on top of the matte. It is marked simply with the letters "a o v" or "n o v". Not quite sure.
Can you offer any help in identifying and dating this piece and also tell me what the practice was called in putting the image on top of the matte. I'm guessing that the date might also be around 1912 as the frames and format are identical to the other post I just entered.
