What sources do you use for category overviews?

Each of our category pages has a write-up on the left hand side with basic (and sometimes detailed) information about that category.

Although we’re not experts on every category we cover, we do our best to make these write ups informative and accurate by compiling them based on a variety of authoritative sources.

These sources include the interviews we’ve done with leading collectors, information from reference websites in our Hall of Fame, our library of hundreds of books on antiques and collecting, and other informational resources on the web. In addition, we do have significant collecting experience on our editorial team.
