I know that in my Grandparents belongings were literally hundreds of these cards. It must have been a "social" exchange amongst friends. Here is a site that may help...

Victorian calling cards. They are really pretty! A few of them look like cards that came with flowers or other gifts, like the one advertising fine liquors. If the calling cards are easily removed from the book take them out and hold them up to the light, some have hidden pictures only visible when held to light. They are more rare than just the regular calling cards.
