My wife bought this at a local thrift store a few weeks ago. I noticed that the table top appeared to be one single piece of wood(about 35"). she realized it was to small for a dinner table and bought a bigger table. So yesterday when i moved it i looked at it closer.. the top is indeed one piece including the mount for the spindle, so this used to be about 6 inches thick. The top is about 1" at the edges and about 1.75" in the middle. It looks as though it was hand carved(chisel marks). The spindle also is one piece and appears to be hand carved(chisel marks and not being perfectly round) The legs/feet are each one solid piece and fit into a key-way on the spindle. Oh did i mention it is all held together with wooden pegs/dowels!!! I am looking for any thoughts on this table. In my opinion it is either really really old or someone did a heck of a job trying to make it look that way... Thank You, Adam abcrider@gmail.com
