This 9' long, double sided ceiling mounted NYC Subway Sign was bought recently. Removed from duty in 1970's.
Don't know if enamel or porcelain.

Very elegant piece. You can usually tell by the wear on these pieces if they're steel enamel or porcelain enamel--the latter tend to chip around the mounts. Phenomenal sign, with a lot more character in the font design than today's pieces.
