This is a travelling inkwell. People would take their dip pens along with this inkwell to use during trips. Ballpoint pens were not available at the time.

Dear Pablo, thank you for the you know how old this is or who it might be made from? I am into astrology and thats what it looked like to me. Travelling inkwell makes since also. If you know anything more about it, I would appreciate it.I see a lot of inkwells but none that come close to this. Thank you for your comment.Have a great day.

Hello Cindy: This particular inkwell appears to be made of brass, and were used from the mid 1800's to 1930's This is a very peculiar one with a beautiful reppouse. Best Regards, Pablo

Cindy, I'm a Cap with Taurus rising with the pleiades (sp) exactly on my ascendant, and Venus exactly on my midheaven. Moon in Cancer. But I'm not into astrology, but for 2 things. I absolutely believe there is something to two things: Don't even try to accomplish anything when Mercury is "retrograde" and there is definitely something to Saturn returns. Fleamistress gmail.

Flea, one can never tell your not into astrology! lol...I am a cancer girl and have a sign above my front door that says a "crab's lives here"...but one can take that out of context...I have a daughter who has her B.D. the day before mine so thought it would be cute to have the sign. It's a great conversational piece. Good talking to you Cap.
