I've heard (and seen a few pics of) elephant feet that have been turned into stools, but not one that looks quite like this. Its old-- consensus among a few local antique dealers is 1900-1930.

I'm curious if anyone knows a bit more about this piece... I know these sort of items became illegal to produce/import in the early 1970's and the actual foot is most likely from Africa. The umbrella stand part appears to be brass and the item is about 2.5 feet (no pun intended) tall. There are four toenails (three that are prominent) and upon close inspections some of the leg hair is visible.

Overall the taxidermy is in really great shape with the exception of one small gap in the rear part of the foot where the leg meets the foot pad (you can see a tiny taxidermy screw in there).

Any other thoughts? Were this produced in quantity or is this likely a one-off made for a big game hunter? Is it worth anything?
