This ring was my Uncle's Masonic Ring(it may have in fact belonged to his father). I inherited it upon his death. He passed away in 2010 at the age of 90. He lived his entire life in Louisiana. Specifically, he grew up in Pineville, La.

The ring is sterling silver(925 inside ring). It weighs 32grams.

It may date back to the 1800's.

      What's the mystery?
    2. CZTacomaman, 8 years ago
The mystery is I don't know the origin of the ring. I want to identify it. How old, etc.

You would need to know which lodge your uncle's father belonged to - Masonic rings come in many different types of designs and have different meanings. I highly doubt that this ring can be traced by it's design.

"Q: Are there other types of Masonic rings in addition to Masonic lodge (Master Mason) rings?
A: Yes. There is no absolutely correct standard face which belongs to any of these rings, as craftsmen create them in many different styles."

Thanks Efesgirl for the help. If I find the lodge that my Uncle's father belonged to, would that be helpful in valuing the ring?

I don't know about that - there were many places to have Masonic rings made, and if your uncle's father ordered it as a private purchase then you may never know. If it was given to him through his lodge, then your chances are better in the way of getting information. The value of the ring would be determined by the demand for such a ring.

There's actually a fairly high demand for Masonic items at least on the American market. I would do an eBay search for an idea of values.
