      What stuff? It is machine turned metal, if that is what you mean. The cigs went under that bar so that when you opened it they did not fall out.

      Look up machine turned metal, or machine turned finish. It does look beautiful!

      Anywhere between the 1930's -50's. They are pretty common - I still have my dad's. They are BEFORE the filtered cigarette period!
