I've had this for a while and I have no clue what it is or how old it is. It is act silly fairly heavy but hollow inside, has a mare and foal with a slit between the two of them that looks like it was possibly made to hold a letter opener? Just my idea of what it's for. The bottom has a little square sticker that says Made in India and then there's a hole on the bottom covered by tape but I didn't remove it in case there's something in there or it's supposed to be there? I would love to find the company name or even just what it is because I'm purging my house. :)

Not possible to find a company name. This is a tourist piece, generically labeled. Don't think it is anything other than a decorative piece. That separation appears to be seam damage where the pieces should be joined together. That aside, it's a very nice piece.

Efesgirl-That's what I was thinking but, its actually supposed to be like that it's not separated which is why I believe it's meant to hold a letter opener or something :) I wish I could post more pics than 4 because there is a little rest on the top of the slit and there's scratch marks where it's been used. I just can't find one single picture that resembles it I wish I knew!

I don't think it's a letter opener holder. That seam looks iffy to me.....
