I am not having any luck with researching the artist/works. The only two clue's I have is another artist Frances Hook American Beauties: Little Girl with a Kittie for Northern Tissue Paper, the Saturday Evening Post. Does anyone know anything about her works. I have a collection of five.
Oil on canvas 16 x 20 and 12 x 16, all signed by Margaret Scully.
Odd as Frances Hook was artist for northern girls. I am wondering if she was a good painter and copied his work ? I have a set of these girls in original shipping envelope I need to go look at them and see what and if signed . They are so precious
It through me off as well. The paintings of the man and girl on my other posts look familiar, may be master paintings I've seen in a museum...
