I found this at a thrift shop. It is about 6 inches tall and has the polo player on one side and the flowers on the back with the design on the sides, top and bottom. I just love the colors and the painting style. It doesn't seem like it is ceramic and the painting is flat, not done in relief. It is an odd thing -- I can't figure out what it was for. It is crumbling a bit on one corner.
If anyone knows what this was for, I'd love to know. I am pretty sure it is Persian but not positive. Also, I have no idea how old it is.

AmericanPaul -- I am reposting this in relation to your posting of an Arabic (?) bowl -- look similar, no?
