This rare cap was issued to Kriegsmarine personnel who were stationed in tropical areas such as Africa and the Mediterrainian. It was cut in the same style of the army Afrikakorps, but made of a brown fabric instead of being olive colored. This particular cap shows much use and is somewhat faded from the sun. The soldier signed his name Kretels in the cap.

Love the Kreigs m-43, very nice example of green iterior/ navy eagle on tan m-43 cap. Wish I had one..size 58 Lol.. Do you collect Nahkampfspange combat badges? I have a beautiful gold 50 combat badge. Equal only to the knights cross in oak leaves w/diamonds. only 692 ever produced and issued. Top award of the army/ waffen SS I obtained one from a vet who took it from the reich himself. He took it as booty in 1945 from a home of a soldier and his family. It is mint with a light patena over all. Produced by FLL and Peekhouse designer Berlin. E-mail me if you want pics.
