This is a pair of naval issue 7x50 binoculars made by the firm of Carl Zeiss. This particular type was standard naval issue, but were used extensively by U boat crews and while on watch duty. The binoculars have the Kriegsmarine acceptance stamp, and are also marked with the letter N which stands for the North Atlantic. I was able to contact someone who had access to the Zeiss company's serial numbers, and was told these glasses were manufactured in 1942. Many times you will find the stamp scratched off by U.S. soldier. They are very well used, and this is evident in the wear pattern on the body of the binoculars. The original leather strap is intact. They work as well today as they did over sixty years ago.
