The USS Princeton was a US light aircraft carrier active in WW2 from 7/43 to 10/44. It was sunk by a Japanese bomb on 10/24/44 in the battle of Leyte Gulf (Philippines).
USMC Captain Joseph Trompeter was an officer on the ship during that time. This is a hand typed report or log of the ships actions from that period. '20 Months on the USS Princeton'.
Trompeter was well decorated in WW2 & Korea, receiving Silver Star & Purple Heart, and rose to the rank of Marine Colonel.
