This chair came to me with no history. I purchased it at an estate sale. I am trying to figure out when it was made and who made it. It seems distinctive enough that someone should recognize it. The back legs were broken and crudely repaired a long time ago, maybe in the 1920s or before. A feather is also missing from the bird (whatever kind of bird it is) and the top curlicue is missing its termination.
I have been told the bird is a heron.
Anyway, the chair is really confusing to pin down for me. Any help will be appreciated. I would also enjoy knowing it's value.
