This appears to be a silk bib of some sort. Any ideas of what it is and how old it is. It is really in excellent condition.

Traditional Chinese female underwear. . . children also wear them (https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a5/%E7%A7%8B%E5%BA%AD%E5%AC%B0%E6%88%B2%E5%9C%96.jpg). Difficult to assess the quality based on the photo, but seems unlikely to have such elaborately embroidered underwears so maybe intended for tourists? But then again I am not an expert in that area. . .
