    Kelseyalle…

I bought this from a thrift store and want to know what year this was made. I can't seem to find any info about it. The lock says USA Excelsior Stamford Conn. And there's a number below it, 2620.
    Anything would be helpful. Thanks!

Hi Kelseyalle, your trunk is from around mid 1930's to early 40's, give or take a little, Excelsior lock co. made the lock, not the trunk, 2620 was probably the key #, without a makers label impossible to say who made the trunk as this style was made by many trunk makers, and they all used the same locks and hardware, greendog.

Kelseyalle, does your trunk happen to have a key with it? We have a trunk with the Excelsior 2620 number that is full of great grandmothers photos and records. The key has gotten lost. I am trying to find a replacement online, and I don’t even know if that will work.
I don’t know if you would be willing to make a copy of your key, or mail your to me and I mail it back. (Lot of trust there, I know.). I’d pay for any expense and inconvenience. Just grasping at straws here !

Thank you Drill. I looked at your link and through their keys. I also found two other shops with similar keys. They have a lot of Excelsior brand keys but none with the 2620 number. I appreciate the link though. Someone is bound to have it.
