This is a nice front mount machine, it bears the Standard record company label, but was in fact made on there behalf by Columbia. The Standard company brought out there machines to only play there records, how they did this was to make the spindle on the turn table 1/2 inch in diameter, all other 78 rpm records were 1/4 inch. This was not such a good marketing ploy, customers turned to more user friendly machines.
