I picked this desk up and I can't figure out who made it. I am guessing this is mid to late 1950's. It almost has a George Nelson feel but I can't find a picture anywhere of another. Its well made and has a very low profile sleek look with the very sleek drawer built in. Could it beKai Kristiansen or arne wahl iversen? There are no markings anywhere. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Your guess is as good as mine. Isn't that what is referred to as a writing table ? I'm not a furniture guy, but I believe that's a "trestle" leg style. From what I've read here, the major makers would have markings on the table somewhere. Designs were copied by a lot of "budget" makers, so it might be a wild goose chase. I think you might be off on the period, though. Just my opinion, but I'm thinking 60's or 70's. I remember seeing a lot of this style writing table back then. As I recall, they weren't very sturdy, either.

Thanks for the comment, the Trestle leg piece of information is very helpful. But, I will have to disagree on the time period. Between the way this is made, the style and the hardware, I still think this is from the 1950's possibly early 60's. I also believe it to be Teak. Anymore info is greatly appreciated. Thank You !

Ahhh...I was going to ask you if it was teak. Close up photos of hardware or detail is important for "aging" something. The teak would then put it more in the 50's or 60's, rather than the cheap pine repro's from the 70's.
