Early Period Gate Leg Table

This Gate Leg Table was bought at an Estate Sale. I do not know much about it. I was wondering if anyone could expound on it for me. I know it is old, how old I do not know; probably early 1900's. It has rollers for feet and is in great shape with a lot of character. I have seen fancier ones, but this one is still a beautiful table. It is functional as is. It seems to be constructed from boards of what kind of wood, I am not sure. There are hinges up underneath it, but there are also hewn out places indicating it is handmade. Could anyone tell me about it?
