      I have seen these skillets online. The persistent online rumor was that they were manufactured by Eddyville Prison in Kentucky. This is a completely unverified rumor.

      They are also know more broadly as Southern Mystery skillets. In that there were many different skillet manufacturers during the 19th century that no longer exist with no identifying information or history about the companies or their products.

      BTW, I can tell you that your skillet is worth several hundred dollars.
