Can some one please help me identity this beautiful item. I believe it is silver plated, but I could be wrong. What is it's use? Can you tell me who made it? Dates? Origin? Thank you for the info.

Hi it's a stand for a chafing dish. Food was kept warm in the chafing dish with a lid placed on top of the stand. In the round section below there was a kerosene burner or candle holder.
If it's silver plated there should be marks if made after 1890 showing country of origin. The style is Queen Anne. If you google "Queen Anne chafing dish plated" you'll get the idea.
