I recane chairs, and I found this chair about a year ago. It was truly love at first sight for me! I had been looking for chairs to practice my caning skills on and this was a real find - the caned seat was in tatters, exactly what I wanted!
Since then, I have been trying to get some information about it. It is much taller and larger than other caned rocking chairs that I own or that I have seen. I've tried to research it, but I have had no luck. It is extremely comfortable compared to the ladies' rockers that I have, and I feel very fortunate to have one that I actually enjoy sitting in! I recaned the seat, but the back is as it was. It stands 41" tall and is 23" across the front of the seat.
There is veneer in the top of the wooden back, as you can see from the photo. Is anyone familiar with this type of chair and able to shed some light on it for me? Thank you!
