Does anyone know what this is? I found it while cleaning out my grandfather's house, and since no one else wanted it, I took it home. It seems to be made out of copper with brass handles, and is disassembled into 3 pieces. If anyone knows anything about it, I 'd appreciate some insight. Thank you, Julius.
It looks like a brazier, or heater. You fill the pan with live embers and cover it with the perforated top, place it in a room and warm it up!

not solved...not a brazier....this is the genuine article...this is a very real Satanic vessel, you need to take this extremely seriously, not a jokey joke, please use your best judgement with this...best of luck....
Please. It is a brazier. JUST a brazier. I have seen many like these in homes of older folks, here in Spain. No satanic connotations whatsoever.
It's an old fashioned heater...that's all.
I have to agree with The Oracle, this is something that should not be triffled with. You are certain that it is harmless but this is not so. Just the fact that you did not capitalize "Satanic" has put you in mortal danger. This is very serious.
