Can anyone help with identification and age of this oil lamp? It appears to be hand painted base. About 5 inch diameter. Detailed etching on glass shade. Metal is brass and only markings are "PATAPLDFOR".

The "PATAPLDFOR" stands for Patent Applied For. As far as the lamp, the base seems to have an art deco look to it. Which would make the lamp date to about 20s to 30s. These lamps were mostly used in the Victorian period so it just might be a transitional piece where there's two styles mixing with one transitioning out to the current- like on the tail end of the Victorian and coming forward into art deco.
