    hello,
I am trying to find out some information on this unique item. Not really sure what it is made out of. It does not say anything on the bottom either. No lettering or numbers. They just sit on the red plates. Any information you have would be great.

    Thank you.

Gargoyles are drainpipe spouts designed to convey water from a roof and away from the walls. IThe word comes from 'gargouiller', a French word that gave us 'gurgle': the sound that water makes through a pipe.
These are Dogs of Foo (Fu, Fo, Foo etc.).
They might be resin. They might be pottery. The red colour reminds me of "Rouge flambé". Only by handling them will someone be able to tell unless there are any marks.
One should be male the other female.
"The lions are always created in pairs, with the male holding resting his paw upon the world and the female restraining a playful cub that is on its back."
I think you have two males!
"Foo Dogs are the ancient sacred dogs of Asia who guard Buddhist temples. The association between these dogs and Buddha is one of great significance. Foo Dogs have the appearance of a lion. The lion in Buddhist religion is seen as sacred, and has sometimes been offered to Buddha as a sacrifice. The name given to these guardians originates from China. The Chinese word for Buddha is Fo, which led to the original title– “Dog of Fo”. There have been other theories that the name developed from the city of Foochow; however, there is no actual proof of this. Another name given to the beast is “Lion of Korea”. This, of course, is due to the creatures close appearance to a Lion."
