I was working in Albuquerque, in 1995 . . . watchin' way too, much TV & I came to a fine & sudden reality, that I needed to . . . become someone else. I had wished that I picked up the Guitar back when I was 12 but with Blue Grass, up & coming, I decided to pick-up the Mandolyn (notice the spelling!) I went down to a pawn shop, somewhere off San Mateo & chose the "Nanci Griffith" ! Because there are not alot of . . . Artists, who, impress me, enough, to seek out thier Music . . . but Nanci . . . hooked me ! And so, I listened, played, listened, played, listened & found myself teaching . . . myself the Mandolyn & after 16 years, I can say . . . I'm doin' OK !
