I recently bought this vase because it was old and unusual, even though it was seemingly unmarked. There were some numbers scratched in the bottom and when I tried to read them with a light, this showed up in another area. It can only be seen if the light and vase are held at just the right angle. It was very hard to photograph, although it is distinct. The bottom is an R and H, with legs crossed. Under that is Made in Austria. It looks like an PirkenHammer mark, although I can't find one exactly like it. Any information would be appreciated.
Austria introduced the two hammers into their coat of arms after 1918.
They symbolize "the workers"; the crown symbolizes "the bourgeoisie".
I am attracted by the shape surrounding the letters. It is probably another important element in your search.
The R is definitely there.
The other letter is not so clear.
Are you sure it is an "H" and not a "K"?
By the way I must congratulate you on the quality of your photos and the clever use of "invert colors"!!!
I inverted the colors and saw that it's a transfer mark.
At first I thought it was impressed.
Have you checked Richter and Hahn?
It is a rather Lovely Vase isnt it....
@vetraio50, Thank you for your comment. Yes, it is definitely an H and the symbols around it have 6 rounded points and a dot in each rounded point. I will check out Richter and Hahn!! thank you so much
I think I have found it: Robert Hanke, Austria.
Robert Hanke Porcelain Factory, Ledvice, Czechia (Ladowitz, Bohemia, Austria)
1882 founded by Robert Hanke.
1945 the factory closed.
