Unique "Acorn Tree" Lamp?

My husband and I found this table lamp in an antiques shop in Ashville, NC. We just thought it was so unusual and fun... it doesn't go with our home decor so much as we just think it's cool.
I don't know if the glass light globes are original to the lamp. They're the pressed glass "acorn" or "raspberry" light globes that I've seen on other lamps, but they do seem to "go" with the style of this lamp. Although, some simple frosted, round glass globes would be nice with it too...
I've been trying to find out something about it - who made/designed it, design era, etc. From what I've seen, it looks to be mid-century, possibly an Eames style piece, but I really have no idea.
So, if anyone has some info on this lamp, I'd really appreciate it.
