Bing Crosby signed yearbook

I bought several old yearbooks at an estate sale several weekends ago, and finally got around to looking at them.
Boy, was I suprised, things are not always what they seem.
The signature is visible in the dark part of his jacket, and goes outside the margins of the photograph.
No, he did not attend this school, please read the old newspaper article for the explanation. The article was inside the yearbook.
