I am trying to find some history about an antique brass oil lamp I have. The tag on the lamp reads as follows: Chief Light (oil use), Date 2031943, No. 954, Made in Great Britain. It is approximately 7x7x16 and in extremely good condition. I am told that it came from an old ship but I am trying to know for sure what the history of the lamp might actually be. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I think the date oe February 3, 1943 should tell you a lot I guess it depends on what you call 'old', and I can tell you in the U.K. this is NOT old........it's a very nice lamp but not what you'd consider 'antique'
