If you look on the front right bed of your machine you can get the most info from Singer. You can google them and go to their website. you can get model numbers and download manuals for it.
The model in the picture is a model 99. From what I can read of the serial number it appears to have been manufactured at the Kilbowie plant in Clydebank Scotland. Machines within this serial number range (EC-589.136 to EC-999.999) were manufactured in 1940. Kilbowie, built in 1884 and closed in 1980 was the largest singer plant in the world (when opened it was a 1 million square foot factory, with 7,000 workers producing ~ 13,000 sewing machines per week).
Lovely 99K hand crank. They are cute machines and should sew well for a long time to come. Takes usual 15x1 needles and 66 class bobbins, all readily availabe from sewing suppliers.
