    trying to get some information on this model 946 s/n 493832 pocket watch,it has "relief watch" ingraved under the train on the back cover.

      Well, that didn't work. Maybe it's a secure link and you have to join to use it... Anyway, your watch was produced in 1908. It's a very high grade "Railroad" watch meaning it would have been approved for railroad service at that time. As a matter of fact, yours may have been a loaner used by a railroad time inspector. It would have been given to a ralroad employee as a "relief watch" to use while his watch was under going it's required periodic overhaul. It's an 18 size open face Hamilton 946 with 23 jewels. It's lever set and stem wind. It's fully adjusted to temp and positions.... Here's a link that I know will work if you'd like to do more reading... http://mb.nawcc.org/
