This is a Ball jar my husband found at the ranch where he works. It was out in the pasture by some rocks. We have never seen one like it and are wondering if anyone has any information about it. It has a Kerr lid, which is rusted on, I havent cleaned it, it is just the way he found it. The Ball logo is on the bottom, along with the number 12, and the patent number 90379.

Looks nice, here away to clean them which is very easy, put a scoop of Oxyclean powder and then fill up rest of way with hot water shake or stir up . Let it sit over night it will do the work. If bottle still alittle cloudy rinse out then fill up with white vinegar let set over night again, bottle should look great.I do this for all my husband bottles.

The patent is from May 25, 1869, but the 12 is the plant designator. #12 is from Gas City, Indiana 1930-present. So that is the age range.

I have just found the same jar it sounds like. It looks a little art deco? Mine has a 10 on it. Any ideas? It is a beautiful jar.

Fred J Petty Design 90379 is the design # as in D90369. Patent filed 4 29 1933. Made in several sizes.
Fairly common trash pit find. Might bring a buck or two at a bottle show if un-hazed or damaged in any way.
