i 've called it a half pot, because i don't know what else to call it. the exterior has a hammered finish to it. on the bottom is stamped "the club aluminum co. i believe it was made in the 20's . the aluminum is very thick, almost a 1/4". the handle is 6 sided with a steel loop at the end for hanging. knob on lid is also original.

you are correct,my grandmother had, & we still have some of the club alum. it is a half pot so when you put two on one burner you could cook two different things, one in each pot.
