(1 item)
Hi!.........new to this site.
Found this item at an estate auction of a grand lady who was an antique dealer for many decades. This is but one of many antique pieces I acquired. But the only one hallmarked "Joseff Hollywood." It clearly has the oval soldered plack on the back of the gold leaf, using the block letters he used in the 1930's/40's.
Via research of the designer Eugine Joseff, this item appears to be one of those items used in movie making, being it is layed in gold, but has that dull finish he was famous for. It is my understading the dull finish was highly sought after for positive effects under lights and cameras. reportedly, many custom jewelry items would be made after the movie, and were the usual shiney finish.
Question: Does anyone know of a way to research which possible movie this item might have been used in? Any help for direction or information would be greatly appreciated.
Yours.............

Hello! We recently visited the Joseff vault, and spoke with the family. I don't think we saw your necklace, but I think you'll enjoy this piece.

Did you get to interview the Joseff family - was that your story??? Fantastic! My sisters talk about that story and how we could sneak into the Joseff vault w/wigs or some such stuff. Thank you Lisa!
