Found this 8-sided crown top bottle near Hico, TX. Anyone have any idea about what it contained? Only marking is a number 4 on the bottom. It is a two piece bottle, as it has a seam running it's length.
Thanks,
Gene

That had ketchup in it. It is not a two piece bottle, it was made in an automatic bottle machine in one piece, that is a mold seam.
It is also not a crown cork top, they were made to be used one time and discarded. That probably had a plastic snap closure.
Yep, I came to the same conclusion last night after poking around online. Looks identical to the heinz bottles made in the 40s and 50s, but I read that heinz were always embossed with the company name on the bottom of the bottle. Do you concur?
