this was an awesome find from a an old guy named jungle jim who was retiring and letting most of his possessions go. his grandfather was a whaler in the late 1800's and this was the from the first whale he ever caught in the 1884. he even showed me a 1910 picture of his grandfather and father with the vertebrae hanging in the background on the same rope and pulley. unfortunately but understandably he wanted to keep the photo. i have no idea as to the value of this item? i just couldn't resist picking a 130yr old whale bone...
