English hallmarks for London. The maker is Chawner & Co (George William Adams) 1840..1882 (registered Nov 1840). The year letter is troubling me though. I think it is "L" for 1846. It just seems inverted.

thanks, from what ive gathered it is what you have noted. the "L" mark i believe is the year mark, ive got it closely pegged to 1860's. it that GA, the maker. Adams is what ive found but i cannot get this validated. and ive certainly never seen this one anywhere else.
